WHAT IS WOOLTRIBE? The OFFICIAL WoolTribe brand, found ONLY at wooltribe.co is focused on using 100% USA merino wool from Shaniko Wool Company. In fact, we believe in them so much that their wool is the ONLY wool we use. It's dual certified under the Responsible Wool Standard, AND under the Nativa-Regen program from Chargeurs. Side note - we know the owner of the wool ranch personally. Well, actually, we know people at our whole supply community of companies personally.
WHY WOOL? We use wool because we have had generations of ancestors working with wool. Merino wool is luxurious, soft, and has incredible properties like being anti-microbial, naturally fire resistant, and - because OUR wool is certified and traceable, we KNOW our products come from ranchers who treat their animals, land, and workers fairly.
WHAT IS MERINO? Merino is a type of sheep! There are MANY kinds of sheep. They have hair that just keeps growing and growing, so each year they need haircuts. When they get haircuts, the hair - wool - that's cut off is what's used to make the yarn in our products. Merino is a luxury fiber that is deliciously soft and amazingly comfortable to wear next to your skin!
WHAT IS YOUR LOGO? The WoolTribe logo - the symbol some people say looks like a rune...or a stick figure wearing a beanie...comes from the letters HDD, turned on their side. The letters HDD were the initials of our first wool company, when we started out hand dyeing yarn in 2019.
WHERE CAN I GET OFFICIAL WOOLTRIBE PRODUCTS? We sell only through wooltribe.co, and through our authorized stockists. Not through any other website, platform, or company.
HOW DO I KNOW IT'S AUTHENTIC? If you didn't find it on wooltribe.co, or at one of our authorized resellers, it's a fake, and you can't be sure the fiber used in the products is traceable, regenerative, and made with the same wool used in Ralph Lauren's USA Olympic uniforms. It's that simple.
